RAMONESHANDCRAFTI made a leather jacket by hand and used it as the cover of a reimagined Ramones album. Studs, embroidery, and laser-cut lettering became the album's design system, bringing fashion, music, and graphic design into one object.MOODBOARD & SKETCHESI started with punk references: CBGB flyers, distressed posters, safety pins, and raw block type. From there I sketched the jacket as a blueprint, mapping where every patch, letter, and stud would go before I started making it. THE PROCESSI laser-cut the leather letters, stitched the patches, set every stud by hand, and tested embroidery placement as I went. I kept the imperfections on purpose. Punk isn't polished, and the jacket shouldn't be either.FINAL PRODUCTThe finished jacket captures the Ramones' spirit, with studs, bold lettering, and raw detailing colliding into one object. It works as both a wearable piece and a graphic statement. I then made it the centerpiece of a full album package: the front cover, a back cover with the tracklist, and the record on a store shelf, where it has to hold its own next to real releases. What started as a garment became a complete identity.REFLECTIONI chose to make a piece of clothing because of my background in fashion. Treating the jacket as both garment and canvas let me bring typography, texture, and punk iconography into one system, and showed me how physical craft can shape a visual identity. It's a direction I want to keep exploring.
